My dear Ma.

Many thanks for your letter and for the enclosure which you didn’t mention. It came in very handy as I had not taken the crew out for some time and we gave them a treat.

Things are pretty busy again just now, but I am hoping its not going to interfere with my leave on Tuesday next.

I hope the weather holds good for K. & K. whilst they are away at Torquay.

It is strictly forbidden of course to mention in letters when we have been operating and it must therefore suffice for me to say that I have passed over ‘60’ twice since my last leave
