22 October 1945.

Madam,

With reference to Air Ministry letter of 6th April, 1945, I am directed to refer, with regret, to the notification that your husband is presumed to have lost his life, and to inform you that, in consequence, the temporary allowance in issue to you will cease with the payment due on 1st November 1945.

I am to add that information as to the payment of any pension for which you may be eligible with effect from 1st December 1945, will be communicated to you by the Ministry of Pensions, Awards VI, Norcross, Blackpool, Lancs.

It should also be mentioned for your guidance that widow's pension, if payable is issued in arrear, whereas the temporary allowance you have been receiving has been issued monthly in advance.

I am, Madam,
Your obedient Servant,
M A Watkins
for Director of Accounts.
