Dear Mr. Steainstreet,

Further to the letter from this Department dated the 10th December, 1947, I am writing to let you know that the Royal Air Force Missing Research and Enquiry Service in Germany, has reported that your son's remains have now been removed from Kirnberg Cemetery, and reverently re-interred in the British Military Cemetery at Bad Tolz, situated 28 miles south south-east of Munich, where he lies in Grave 20, Row B, Plot IX. The three comrades who also lost their lives are at rest in graves nearby.

I do sincerely hope the knowledge of his last resting place, and that it will always be reverently tended by the Imperial War Graves Commission may be of some consolation to you in the great loss you have sustained.
