Dear little Sis,

Heres a few lines for your private arker like to cheer you up a littel [sic] bit.

Thought you might like to know I wrote to Vera and got a nice letter back which shook me! Seems she still wants to be friends but I don’t think we’ll ever get serious about each other again.

You said you thought I ought to write and sort of make amends so I did but I’m telling you private like ‘cos praps Mum & Dad won’t like the idea – I don’t know. I still don’t know how

V. feels towards me as she only mentioned being friends but otherwise she wrote quite a newsy sort of letter about Club etc.. Well that’s that. I still don’t know if I’d like to go out with her again even if ‘er be a’willin’ which I doubt so its a bit of a G G G Gocker (ah!) isn’t it!

Well thats not really what I wanted to write about anyway.

I want you to know how sorry I am that Les will have to go away – still it won’t be for long we all hope and he won’t be very far away in these modern days of travel. Please give him my love and wish
