Thursday

Dear Lewis.

Thanks for your letter recieved [sic] Tuesday it was grand to hear from you again So you have started flying once more. Sidney says are they big ones’

They are still on holiday dont start while next Tuesday shall I be sorry he had a report before Easter it was awful but dont mention it when you write as he asnt [sic] half been drilled about it, and of course we have not mention it else where. he as [sic] gone to the Rex with Bob

this afternoon Dad as [sic] told him there no pictures when he starts shool [sic] so he is making hay while the Sunshine.

Dad as not got his greenhouse yet but I hope it come’s for Saturday as it is Dad’s birthday on Saturday the 22nd and would be a good present. for him. it is Sidneys on the 30th April

I had a letter from Fred Belch last week he did not get home for his birthday but got [deleted] drumh [/deleted] drunk on one of the night [sic] for the first time in his life he said. He had not had a letter from you for months so would I tell you to write him he as left London and is back again with the asult [sic] lot.

Well Lewis Dads [sic] says if you are not stopping at Oxford for long he wouldnt bother with the byke [sic] as you have so much kit to mess about with and it would be a bother then and you dont want it for the others to take it but if you want it dont you think it would be better for you to take it back with you when you come up we havnt [sic] got the screws yet as they have been closed. but hope yet to get them this weekend.

Harry Smith as got his wings and a commion [sic] in Canada I saw his mother today and they have had a letter from him yesterday he said no one was more surprised than himself when they gave him his wings and said a commion [sic] as well

Derek Allen was suppose [sic] to be having his wings the 8th April but when his mother heard last he said dont write any more as he would be home soon but they have heard no new’s as yet of his wings.

Ken Riddale is down your way night flying so Mrs Syness told me the other day. also Rolly our Cyril’s pal is down there too

I must now dry up as Dad will be in for tea in about 20 mins Mrs Taylor as just been in she say [sic] just give him all the best from me. So Cheerio for now and write soon.
