Dear Mam & Dad,
Everything here is the same as usual, but today I am starting ten days leave. I do not think I shall be going anywhere though, unlees [sic] I go down to Winnipeg for a few days.
The weather here is very nice now but all the snow is melting and every where is covered with mud. Last week we had a really bad blizzard and never left the barracks for three days not even to go to the camp cinema All the roads were blocked and as we could not get to Dauphin we were [inserted] completely [/inserted] isolated.
Yesterday was the first day of spring so now I have had two full winters in Canada; what a life.
Last Saturday I went down into Dauphin to see the film “Pride of the Yankees”, its really good so go and see it if you have chance. Tonight I think I shall go and see “One of our Aircraft is Missing” as it looks like being a good show.

In your last letter which I received last Wednesday you say you were the last to receive my Christmas Card: well if you look at the postmark you will see I posted yours over a week before the others.
Today I got a letter and a Birthday Card from my Grandma Ellis and Aunt Alice. My Aunt Alice addressed the envelope to [underlined] Master L Ellis [/underlined] so as no one knew it was meant for a sergeant it went all round the Airmen’s Mess before I got it and the guy who gave it me thought it was meant for my small son so I told him I could not figure out which son [inserted] they meant [/inserted] as I had triplets.
So please tell every one to address their letters to Sergeant Ellis and save me a lot of embarrassment.
It looks now as if I shall be in England in a few months but I will let you know when I hear anything definite.
I guess thats all for now,
Remember me to all
Your loving son
Lewis.

Will you let me know how my allowance is coming through and how much?
