Dear Mam and Dad,

Im writing this letter on the troop ship so you’ll probably get a cable before this arrives.

We’ve been sailing a few day now in a convoy and I think we should see land pretty soon. I can’t tell you much as this letter will be censored.

Up to now we have had a very easy and pleasant trip. Tyler & I are in a cabin to ourselves so we very comfortable except when there is a bit of a rough sea.

On the ship cigarettes – Players – are 1/8 for 50 and [deleted] y [/deleted] one can buy as many as one likes. Chocolate – Cadbury’s – is also plentiful.

Up to the present I havn’t [sic] been sea sick although just after we

left port I did not feel so well but I’m OK now.

Well I’ll close now & I’ll try and cable home as soon as I land.
