25 May 1945.

Madam,

I am directed to refer to previous correspondence from this Department and to inform you with regret that a further report has now been received from the International Red Cross Committee, Geneva, which unhappily confirms that your son, Pilot Officer John Edgar HOLDEN, Royal Air Force, lost his life on the 4th August 1944, and adds that he was buried in Grave No. 3 in the Cemetery at Beauchery, 35 miles north east of Melun. France.

In conveying this information, I am again to express the sympathy of the Department with you in your great loss.

I am, Madam,
Your obedient Servant,
