PART Ɪ – LAW & ADMINISTRATION (100 [italics] Marks [/italics]).

1. Arrange the following Navy and Army Officers in descending order of rank, and give the equivalent R.A.F. Officers and their rank marking:-
(i) Lieutenant Colonel;
(ii) Brigadier;
(iii) Lieutenant Commander;
(iv) Admiral;
(v) Lieutenant (Navy).

2. (i) Into what main departments is the organisation of a station divided?.
(ii) Indicate briefly the duties of the officers responsible for them.

3. (i) What rules govern the procedure of investigation of a charge against an airman by his C.O.?.
(ii) In what cases can the airman elect to be tried by Court Martial?.

4. (i) Name the regulations and instructions with which, as an airman, it is your duty to be acquainted.
(ii) Where are they normally to be found?.

5. If a reporter on your local newspaper approaches you for a column about life in the R.A.F., and you feel you can give him something of interest, what must you do before the article appears in print?.

6. (i) What is the Airman’s Record Sheet?.
(ii) Into what main sections is it divided?.

PART ꞮꞮ – HYGIENE [italics] (60 Marks). [/italics]

1. (i) What are the general principles underlying the treatment of burns and scalds?.
(ii) What steps would you take if you had to deal with someone suffering from extensive burns? (Assume that you have an aircraft first aid outfit and that medical aid cannot be expected for twelve hours).

2. What precautions must be taken:-
(i) in the storing of food;
(ii) in the cookhouse;
to prevent disease and poisoning?.

3. If you are in a malarial district, what measures should you personally take to guard against mosquito infection?.

4. You have been detailed to supervise water supplies in a camp site newly
