Lancasters Pound Kaiserslautern

Lancasters of R.A.F. Bomber Command kept up the offensive against the enemy’s railway centres inside Germany with an attack last night on Kaiserslautern.

Kaiserslautern is about 40 miles N.E. of Saarbrucken with railway yards and facilities which could be used to carry supplies and troops to the enemy’s lines.

Crews came down below cloud and bombed from about 3,000ft.

A bomb-aimer said fires spread throughout the whole area.
