My Dearest Mum,
Just a few lines in answer to your letter & langraph recieved [sic] on Saturday. Very glad to hear that all at home are still in the best of health.
Well, sweet, heres the news. On Thursday Tich & I went into Lincoln & saw ‘Casablanca’ a really grand film. Boy could I go for Ingrid Bergman. On Friday Ted, Tich & I went to the Phosway [sic] & had a couple of pints & home early to bed.
On Saturday we went into Newark & saw Abbott & Costello in ‘Pardon My

Sarong” a very good film. Unfortunately little Mac & I both missed the last bus back & had to walk all the way. We got into bed at four o’clock. Wow! were we tired the next day & did our feet ache.
Last night we went to the camp cinema & saw Spencer Tracy & Ingrid Bergman in “Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde”. I’d already seen it once but it was well worth seeing again.
Had a real surprise yesterday.

Guess who I met? Bob of all people. We’ve been chatting ever since then. He sends his regards to all of you.
Have just recieved [sic] Dad’s cable & your cards. Many many thanks indeed to you Ron & Mo.
Well sweet, nothing more to say except that am really looking forward to this week-end. So until then
