Madam,
I am directed to inform you that this department has been notified by Headquarters No.2 Group that you have received a letter from your son, Sergeant L. Pickford, stating that he is a prisoner of war.
In view of the fact that the Air Ministry has received no official information that he is a prisoner of war it would be appreciated if you would allow this department to see your letter in order that he may be so classified. The letter will be returned to you.
A pamphlet regarding correspondence with prisoners of war is enclosed for your information.
