Dear Mrs. Pickford,
Thank you very much for your letter, with enclosures, which I have been very interested to read. In the circumstances there certainly seems to be some doubt as to the accuracy of the report of your son's death and I am making enquiries to have the matter definitely cleared up.
As soon as I hear anything I will advise you and I will return your son's letters and cards to you by registered post at an early date.
