Dear Ma, I recieved [sic] one letter from you this week. A Soccer competition between two international teams, namely, England and Scotland has been organised by the Station Officers here. The winning team, best out of three games, are to be presented with an engraved watch for each player. Spectators have to pay one lire to watch each game, and it is hoped to Raise three thousand lire by the gate. The Ballance [sic] is to be subscribbed [sic] by the Italian officers. The First of these games was played yesterday England winning two against one. Scotlands centre missed two penalties and subsequently lost the game for his side The game was played in a stiff wind almost spoiling the game. Only the skill of the Players made the game presentable. It was a well fought Battle. Scotland were unfortunate and should do better in the next clash, which we look forward to in keen antisipation [sic]. I am in good Health also Aurther George & Bill. Hoping you are the Same at Home. Your Loving Son Leslie.
