19 GEN 1943

Dear Ma, I’ve had no mail of any discription [sic] this week. Next wednesday will be my last day to visit the dentist. I have had Seven out so far and only have three more left for Extraction. I will certainly be pleased when it is over. My top teeth were all chipped or Broken when we crashed, and the dentist broke most of them again in extracting them. By the time I get home my gums will be sufficiently hard to get false immediately. Most of the food here is slop so Ive only my one loaf of Bread to worry about. The weather is one hundred Per cent better than the corresponding period of last year. News is certainly more cheerful. We have only had one slight fall of snow. This was in Dec. Parcels are at an ebb this week we only get one Medical food Parcel between four. These Parcels contain mostly slops like Benger’s food. Oatmeal etc. so it is O.K for me even if not very Great in quantity. I am in good Health and excellent spirits, sincerely hoping all at home are ditto
