Dear Ma, The Fag Parcel I received on Mon was from the Manchester Relatives Association it contained 120 Players and 1/4 lbs tobacca [sic]. I’ve had one letter from Irean and a Xmas Card from you this week. I sent a Greetings tellgrame [sic] today. Mail is very Poor latly [sic] but news is very Heartening, we hope it keeps up We’ve Had snow nearly all week here, and boy is it Cold. Last Sun we had a band concert this week we have a Play by J.B Priestly Called I have been here before. We are more or less Resigned to spend Xmas here again but I believe it will be the last. “So Roll on that Boat.” We are getting Red Cross Parcels again this week after a break of a fortnight. We certainly need them now of all times. Food keeps out the cold, that is why we notice so much here. Please give my Xmas Greetings to all. I hope you are in the Same Good Health and soaring Spirits I am in Your Loving Son
