Dear Ma, Ive had two letters from you and one from Flo Sharpe this last week. Five Hundred new Prisoners arrived here last Sun, and Aurther [sic] George was one of them. I fixed him up with what spare kit I had. We went to see a Play called The Middle Watch presented by number three compound on Monday last. I've seen hundreds of worse shows at home. The ladies in the show, portrayed by men would make many film stars Jealous of thier [sic] acting and looks. We held two Horse Racing meetings during the week. Last night two Sgts tried to escape but were captured before they were clear of the camp. Bad Luck
[censored]
Missing letter]lease remember me to all. Very sorry about Peggy. also about Ken Whitham. I am in good health and spirits and hope all at home are the same. Dont forget to let me know when you received money I sent you.
Your Loving Son
Leslie.
