19th May 42.
Dear Ma,
I have had no letters from you since my last letter and one from Winnie and Aunty Fanny. If you have sent me under Pants (Short) Thin Vest and Pyjamas in my second Parcel I’ll have all the clothes I need. Will you just send me chocolate, socks soup and Tooth-Paste in Future Parcels. I have met Cpl [indecipherable name] since my last letter and we are quiet [sic] chummy now. Don’t Bother about the Book I asked for it takes about 8 months to reach us as they have to be censured [sic]. Has your allotment increased yet and have you had the £50 I sent you. Things are still the same here, But we have some Red Cross Parcels again. These are the only High Lights in this Life or camp. Please Don’t worry over me as I am in good Health and looking forward to being home again. The Weather here is good. Food has improved Very Little. I am Pleased to Hear you are getting quiet nights.
Your Loving Son
