Dear Ma,
Well Ma this is my 22nd Letter to you. I am Receiving your Mail in Bits and Pieces as all the other men are. I hope you are getting mine O.K. We had a fairly good Dinner on Xmas Day consisting of Meat, spuds, coliflower [sic], Peas and Rice, with fresh Milk and Sugar in it. This was the only change from the usual day. The last six days Have been like a story of Winter in the Yukon With a Blizzard blowing all day. We have to stay in Bed most of the time to keep warm. Many of the Boys have Very Bad feet and Hands with chilblains which Have not worried me yet. I must close now wishing you all the good Health I’ve got and a Merry New Year.
Your Loving Son
Leslie.
