Dear Lewis,
Sidney as [sic] just written you so I said I would put a few lines in too.
Well dear how are you? quite well we hope and keeping fit every one here is quite well at present we are having it a bite [sic] nippy night and morning but nothing to grumble as I expect you will be having some real cold weather now.
I had a letter last Wensday [sic] from Hats he was very busy I think he is the one that does all the swotting he said he had sent for quite a collection of books from home that he thought he would not want. he says we can expect to see him early in the New Year the first week I think.
I saw a photo of Stanley yesterday he look [sic] real well and to [deleted] o [/deleted] have grown some too he had a friend

with him that did not come up to his shoulder your dad had to laugh he said it look [sic] like the long and short of it still it was a very good snap.
I am going to Grandmas today taking Hazel she as [sic] been killing the pig yesterday so I am going to help to get it out of the way it is beening [sic] put into salt [deleted word] for bacon & ham so we may get a [indecipherable word] later on we [underlined] hope [/underlined]
We had a letter from Mr & Mrs Foster they wish to be remembered to you and send all Best wishes and Luck, we have’nt see [sic] Fred lately heard he was very busy but may see him at the week end.
Well dear will I have to dry up our Sydney wants this to catch the post it cant get off soon enough he as [sic] counted up on when you should recieve [sic] it. so I hope it arrives to his expectation which shouldnt be long hope you can read it its one of those nibs I cant manage.
