Dear Madam,
With reference to previous correspondence, it is my painful duty to inform you that confirmation has now been received from a German Official List forwarded by the Internation Red Cross Committee that your husband, No.1202557 Sergeant Kenneth Richard PEXMAN, of No.9 Squadron, Royal Air Force, was killed in action on the 31st May 1942. His death is therefore presumed, for official purposes, to have occurred on that date.
Steps will now be taken to dispose of those of his personal effects which are under Royal Air Force control and you will receive a further communication about this in due course.
The Air Council desire me, in conveying this information to you, to express their sympathy and deep regret at your husband’s death in his Country’s service.
