Dear Madam,
With reference to my letter of the 1st June 1942, I regret to inform you that nothing further has been heard of your husband, No. 1202557 Sergeant Kenneth Richard PEXMAN of No. 9 Squadron, Royal Air Force, since he was reported missing.
The aircraft of which your husband was an air gunner, took off from base at 11.30 p.m. on 30th May 1942, detailed to attack a target in Cologne. After the take off nothing further was heard of the aircraft.
You may rest assured, however, that should any additional news be received by me you will be informed immediately.
With renewed expressions of the sympathy of the Royal Air Force with you in your great anxiety,
