Coded JO-E, Airborne 1924 15th March from Waddington for Stuttgart. While returning to Waddington was involved in a mid-air collision with a 625 sqn Lancaster (ND637) both aircraft falling near Branston, 4 miles S.E. of Lincoln. P/O GRAHAM and his fellow Australian F/S Humpreys [sic] are buried in Cambridge City Cemetery. The others were taken to their home towns. P/O W.A. Graham RAAF KIA, Sgt D. McA MUNRO KiA, SGT J.A. COATES KIA. SGT JGT J.G.B. JAMESON KIA. SGT H A BAXTER KIA, SGT T H JONES KIA, F/S A S HUMPHREYS RAAF K.I.A.

While returning to base was involved in a mid-air collision with a 463 sqn Lancaster (ED606) both aircraft crashing near Branston 4 miles S of Lincoln. The 3 RCAF men were taken to Harrogate (Stonefall) cemetery. SGT [inserted] ALFRED WILLIAM [/inserted] AISTON, a South African married to Jean AISTON of Whitburn in County Durham is buried in Lincoln (NEWPORT) cemetery. The rest were taken to their home towns.
