My darling Jean,
So pleased to receive your two letters the last one of which arrived today, am sorry I have'nt written before but we have had a fair amount to do, now we are doing some extra training so we should'nt be quite so busy.
Am glad to hear you had a nice time on Sunday. I won't tell you what time I was up otherwise you will probably expect a cup of tea at that hour when we are

married. I have'nt received Mothers cake yet, expect it will be along tomorrow, what part did you do towards it? mix the ground glass in?
I hope some news you [underlined] may [/underlined] be interested in, our leave is put forward to the 10th-17th March, am afraid its right in your busy period but the Air Force apparently don't know of your connection with Eastwoods otherwise they would'nt have gone and done it!
Regarding the seats at the theatre you and Mother better keep Dad up to that, he's like his son got a [indecipherable word] memory, forgets things when its a good idea to do so, its fine if

you can get away with it, but what a hope with you women.
Should like to see the new hair do as you call it, if it does stick out as bad as that we can use it for a duster or on the other hand will it shine more in the moonlight.
Have just started reading your second letter to see if there is anything you want to know, have just remembered I have’nt mentioned the car, I asked Dad to get the garage people to check it over and then let

me have the insurance and log book when I can get the leave petrol.
We went over to our local on Saturday, had quite a pleasant evening, in fact we did’nt leave until 12.30AM. even then there were still quite a few playing darts.
I’ll ignore the remarks about the next thirty years, shall probably say “darling you grow more beautiful every day” you’ve never know me to be rude.
Well, sweatheat [sic], cheerio for now, shall be seeing you very soon so until then take care of yourself and please remember me to Mother & Dad
All the best
Yours Jack.
