Dear Jean,

As its a week since I wrote you thought I better send a page or two otherwise should have an extremely guilty conscience, (mine does still exist} also would provide you with a subject to be very rude about.

Well, how is our compt weekend getting on, still at Eastwoods I suppose, gee that firm must be tough, how are their socials going? you know, you ought really to learn to dance, think of all the fun you could have jumping on the

manager's toes, then smiling sweetly and telling him how sorry you were

After these few polite opening remarks I think I better change the subject, have not had a particularly outstanding week, life runs on the same in any R.A.F. camp whether it is in England or any part of the world. We have been out for several decent walks, usually at the weekend, the scenery is nothing exceptional, practically all woods, mostly fir and spruce. There are a few bears about, but they don't come near to the towns, some of our lads have seen tracks in the woods but they didn't bother to investigate further. We took

several snaps, if they are any use will send them later, have just discovered a flaw in the lens of my camera so things may not turn out so good. Think I will try and get a decent camera, one of my pals is pretty keen on amateur photograph [sic] so I think I will let him buy it for me, shall wait until I get to a large town, shall get a better selection.

Have just received a cable from home, everything is under control. Expect it will be another fortnight before I get some mail, airgraphs take about a month to receive a reply.

We don't go to Moncton a great deal as there is plenty of

entertainment in camp, the pictures in the town are released about the same time as at home. For instance, ‘Random Harvest' 'In Which We Serve' to mention two have just been shown here.

Have not heard any news of our course yet, should think the weather is against it as the thaw makes the ground unsuitable for a week or so.

Well, think thats all the news at the moment, take care of yourself and don't forget to write.

Yours

Jack
