My darling Jean,
Thanks so much for your two letters which arrived yesterday and today, the parcel has’nt arrived yet but expect it will turn up tomorrow.
If you have seen Mother & Dad I expect they have told you that the squadron is being disbanded on the 15th, apparently this time we are to be considered tour expired which means I should get some more leave after that date, as all the crew want to stay together. Jack is trying to get a posting

to another squadron, however its unlikely to come off as this is a group order.
Regarding the Italian trips these are just starting but I don’t think [deleted letter] we shall go, however should like to do one trip before packing up, if we do, dont worry if you don’t hear from me for a day or so.

Will you please thank Mother for the cheque, we shall have to buy something with it for the home.
I was thinking about my civilian clothes, when I come home next time I’ll go through them and throw out some of the old stuff, it will make more room.

I’m glad the men have started on the room again, shall have to see that other carpenter about the sink, hope he can do it without too much delay.
Thanks so much for your birthday wishes, dont feel any older though, must be the influence of my young wife, she makes me so happy even if she teases me by putting rude drawings about my early morning shave in the letter, by the way how can I draw eyebrows and a comb?
Regarding the petrol tin, its at home and

I told Dad to get it filled at Salters this weekend as I can spare some petrol, am afraid my last lot will be the issue for some time.
Tell Mother not [inserted] to [/inserted] worry about my present it’ll keep. I’ll have them all at once, its a good idea about the tools, I shall be needing some more later on.
Well, darling, that’s about all for the moment, shall be writing again in a day or so. Give my love to Mother & Dad.
All my love, darling, hope to be seeing you soon.
Cheerio for now
Yours Jack
