Comments that he hasn't had a letter recently and hopes they are OK, asks what kind of holiday they had, comments that the weather has not been too good in Yorkshire but didn't matter as he was either at lectures or swotting. Not enjoying his time at Bridlington, wishes he was still at Warmwell as he would be expecting 14 days leave from there.

Dear Mum & Dad,

Up to the time of starting this letter I have not heard from you since Friday so I hope you are all O.K. What kind of holiday have you had. The weather has been rotten up here but I have not been worrying as we are going to start our exams some time next week so I have spent the weekend at lectures & swotting. I shall not be sorry to get away from here. I hope you received my washing O.K. Val is home for 48 hrs tomorrow I only wish that I could get a 48 hr but theres [sic] no chance. Just think if I were still at Warmwell I would be

coming home for fourteen days on Friday. We get paid again this week I hope it will be the second time we have been paid since we left Warmwell. Well I cant think of anything else so I will close.
