Dear Mum, Dad & Fmly, [sic] On the 23rd I received 8 letters, 5 were from all at home 1 was from Pat, 1 from Heron’s & another. I also received 2 cig parcels (200 in each) one from the Ilford Guild & one from Unilevers. John also received his first parcel. These were just timely for Christmas. Letters were dated Sept-Oct. I’m glad to hear you are all OK, but I’m extremely sorry to hear about Grandfather’s death it seems hard to believe I was with him this time last year. Christmas has been quite a success for me all round. I’ll write about it next time. Hope yours was OK. Closing now so best wishes for New Year, love
