10 Dec 1943: Hello Everyone
Well it's Friday afternoon 3 o'clock. I'm laying around on my bunk so will attempt to drop you a line.
Received your letter Tuesday. I got one from Aunt Verna today. They are all well. Dora says she sent me an iron but I haven't received it yet. Don't forget to forward those pictures to me as soon as possible.
Everything is going fine. I'm getting fat and lazy down here. I don't get up till 8:30 and sleep most of the time between meals. I'm 6 pounds overweight but guess I'll lose that in England. I weigh 181 stripped. Meals are poor but we have lots of bread-butter and jam.
The weather is quite cool today but it varies a lot. One day it's like summer and next it's very cold.
One of the Culley boys from Bowmanville is stationed here. He is a F/S on staff. He used to work in Fraser and Dale hardware, a curly-headed fellow. Dad would know him. He says Cherry Woods went through not long ago, also Trevor Davidson.
I trust you are all well and getting along as usual. You'll be getting a lot of eggs now the other pullets have started.
Well there isn't much more to say. Xmas will soon be here. I guess it will be blood pudding and Yorkshire sauce for me. Will say so long for now. Be sure and write.
Love Glenn
