Madam,
[underlined] 1426942 Sergeant E.B. Thornhill. [/underlined]
I am directed to inform you that, as your husband is now known to be a prisoner of war, you will remain entitled to the payments which were being made to you by this Department at the date he was reported as a casualty.
You should accordingly continue to cash the orders in your Royal Air Force order book until further notice, and this Department's letter of the 7th January, 1944, should be regarded as cancelled.
